Virtual Auditions

---

Welcome to our Audition Information page and thank you for your interest in being a part of Pop's Diner. This is truly a unique opportunity to be part of a brand new, original musical theater project, right here in the heart of New Jersey.

Unfortunately, after completing a successful five-month Workshop, and a round of auditions for live performances, the Pop's Diner Creative Team had to make the tough decision to postpone our live performances scheduled for January 2027 until a future date. While we had some amazingly talented thespians come out to audition, we just did not have enough talent to fill all the roles in our show in time to mount this production.

Our Creative Team includes some of the most talented people in New Jersey theater:

Devin Massih - Director

Raven (Dunbar) Abbott - Choreographer

Dan Schulze - Lighting and Sound Designer

June Torres - Stage Manager

and Marty Alen Angstreich, our show's creator, is also our Music Director as well as Executive Producer!

A bit about the playwright:

A life-long musician and theater professional, Marty's resume includes music directing over thirty-five musicals for theater companies across the tri-state area including the Summer Theater of New Canaan, as well as MD'ing concerts for many Broadway stars including Ron Sharpe and Barbra Russell ("Les Mis", "Married to Broadway", "The Sharpe Family Singers"), Natalie Toro ("Les Mis", "Buena Vista Social Club", "A Tale of Two Cities", "Jesus Christ Superstar"), James Barbour ("Beauty and the Beast", "A Tale of Two Cities", "Jane Eyre"), Melody Meitrott ("Grease!) and more!.

To learn more, please visit his bio page.

As we plan our future course for bringing this 1970s jukebox musical to the stage, we want to be sure to continue the momentum of adding talented actors/actresses to our pre-casting database.

If you are interested in being a part of our world premiere of Pop's Diner, then we encourage you to submit a VIRTUAL AUDITION. Our team is actively reviewing submissions and keeping notes as to who might be a good fit for which roles in the future. You can learn more about Pop's Diner, including the Cast of Characters, by clicking the About Pop's Diner button below.

You can also follow us on Instagram @popsdinermusical for real-time updates as things progress.

Please note: For casting, actors should be able to "play" the ages as listed for each character, respectively.

For your Virtual Audition:

• Video yourself performing a 32-bar cut of a 1970's pop song (no Broadway songs, please!) You can accompany yourself, sing to a karaoke track or A Capella, your choice.
• Email the video, along with your headshot and resume, to info@popsdinermusical.com.
• Finally, please submit an audition intake form: https://forms.gle/fzMUzXPFuzLaPK7v8

Not an actor, singer, or dancer but love the theater? If you have a passion and want to be a part of this ground-breaking new musical experience right here in New Jersey, then Pop's wants you!

We are accepting volunteers to help us out with this upcoming production to assist with rehearsals, sets, props, costumes, performances, etc. If interested, please email us at info@popsdinermusical.com with your name, email address, phone number, your age, and how you might want to help. Anyone under the age of 18 must have the permission of a parent or guardian to participate in this adventure.

Thanks, in advance, for your interest . . .

Marty Alen Angstreich!
